bluemedia transforms Jobing.com Arena during for NFL’s 2008 “Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash”The Super Bowl has come and gone, but during the widely publicized weekend bluemedia had the edge on the competition working with the NFL on projects highly successful events most notably the Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash. The event took place at the beginning of the weekend on Thursday, January 31, 2008 through game day. Well-known performers, including Mary J. Blige and Maroon 5, took stage to a packed and eager crowd ready for the start of the infamous weekend, but bluemedia’s ‘concert’ for the event took place well before. To bluemedia’s advantage, Jobing.com happens to be on the roster as one of their clients and has done all of the graphics for the arena since its debut in 2003. bluemedia met the NFL a few months prior to this year's Pepsi Smash event during their first walk through at Jobing.com Arena. After meeting with the NFL bluemedia was tasked with dousing Jobing.com arena, home of the Phoenix Coyotes and countless other sporting and music events, with Pepsi Smash branded items. During that initial meeting it was outlined bluemedia had its work cut out for them: to cover every single sponsor logo and team marking with Pepsi Smash branded items, starting January 28 – the event took place on January 31, in the nearly 18,000 seat room. The project not unfamiliar to bluemedia’s larger undertakings wasn’t short on challenges and late nights. It was suggested by reviewers of the arena that it was turned into a nightclub. As the big game approached, design files started streaming into the bluemedia facility. At this point the bluemedia staff was already working 18 hours a day and seven days a week preparing for all of the other events taking place during the week of the Super Bowl. With all of the schematics and measurements in hand, the bluemedia team began producing Pepsi Smash graphics at a rapid rate. Then on January 28th, the keys to the building were turned over to the NFL and the bluemedia team. Lead by bluemedia's own Tug Orr, the team began covering up everything insight inside Jobing.com Arena. The production list included 14,823 square feet of banner vinyl, 970 chair decals, 5800 square feet of adhesive back vinyl, 182 mounted signs and plethora of added on items. Because bluemedia never leaves a man behind, the ground team was still finishing all of the last minute add ons all the way up until the time concert goers lined up to come into the building for the first concert on January 31st. After it was all done and the three days of concerts were finished, the bluemedia team was back on sight to return Jobing.com Arena back to its original state. In less than one week, the bluemedia team converted Jobing.com Arena into an all Pepsi Smash building and then got it back to game ready mode in time for the Coyotes to play the Blue Jackets on the 7th of February. In the famous words of the A-Team... "If you have a problem... If no one else can help... And if you have no time to pull it off... Maybe you should hire... The bluemedia team."
