The Bluemedia Customer Service dance team is working hard this summer to raise money to support their ever growing daily beer intake. Under new coach, Steve ‘Electric Boogie’ Parsons, the team hopes to travel to the Eastern Dance Association Nationals in Myrtle Beach SC, among other dance competitions and camps.
Parsons recently took over the coaching post from Mike ‘Tiny Dancer’ Greco, who led the team for two years.

“Greco really took the team to new heights. He was a driving force and did so much to build the team,” Parsons said.
He is working to continue the success the team experienced under Greco by working hard on the team’s dance skills, but also by serving the community with bikini car wash Saturdays. On Nov. 5th, the team plans on hosting an all-day dance clinic for children ages 8 to 15. Students have the day off for a teacher work day, so the clinic is a way to help out the parents in the area while giving the students a taste of what it is like to be on a world recognized customer service dance team, Parsons said.
“I find that community service is a great way to do team-building, and unlike the ordinary team-building exercises, bikini carwashes really help build team moral,” Parsons said.
Co-captain Kyle Reich, a junior, said, “The surrounding towns have been very supportive over the past years. I’m hoping to give back some of that commitment to them by increasing the speed of my spirit fingers.”
Seniors Tug Orr and Brandy Hopkins also are captains who lead the LVHS team.
“The leadership on our team is fabulous. They take charge and do a majority of the choreography. My job is to embrace, encourage and support. They do the rest,” Parsons said.
The team’s dedication was evident to Parsons when he forced the team to practice 7 days a week instead of 5.
“The team works so hard. They are extremely passionate about dance and it shows,” Parsons said.
