It’s that time of year again to sit back and admire some of the best vehicle advertising in the industry. This year’s Sign and Digital Graphics magazine’s Auto Art Contest featured more than 500 entries of some of the most creative and interesting designs on the road. As in years past, this year’s contest was divided into five categories: Commercial Vehicles, Shop Vehicles, Trailers and Buses, Pro Racing and Street Art.

We also received an honorable mention in the buses and trailers category for the Game Truck’s mobile gaming trailer.

bluemedia and FOX Sports Arizona team up and knock it out of the park.

blue continues to successfully produce dynamic creative for the Phoenix Light Rail.  Utilizing the HP Scitex Turbojet 8300, blue was able to reproduce awesome images of the Arizona Diamondbacks with unparalleled clarity and precise color matching, essential for the FOX Sports Arizona campaign.

“With the biggest and best two month span in our Arizona Diamondbacks 2010 telecast schedule coming up in June and July, we were looking to promote FOX Sports Arizona and FOXSportsArizona.com in an outdoor medium that would be seen by many people throughout the Valley” Brett Hansen, FOX Sports Arizona’s Director of Communications/Marketing told our design staff.

We knew that good enough was not going to be enough for this campaign.  The end result was a wrapped train that captured the excitement and electricity of the Diamondbacks and FOX Sports Arizona.

The client agreed.

blue wrapped fourteen 28′ Trailers and eight 32′ Trailers along with a Tanker to promote Circle K’s famous Thirst Buster.  With great creative and amazing reproduction, thousands of commuters will find themselves uncontrollably in need of a ginormous .79 cent ice cold Thirst Buster.

The OAAA/TAB Out of Home Media Conference & Marketing Expo was held at the JW Marriot Desert Ridge from May 2^nd to May 4^th and bluemedia was there in full force.  bluemedia was a major sponsor of the conference, branded all the hotel keycards for attendees and even rolled out the blue carpet for a VIP party at Blue Martini.

The mood at the conference was very optimistic and the light at the end of the tunnel appears to be shining brighter and brighter for the advertising community.  There was a definite sense of collaboration and momentum throughout the weekend.

The event was a huge success and reinforced bluemedia’s commitment to the outdoor market, quality service and of course a good time.

bluemedia was commissioned to design, print and install a 20′ table graphic in support of a very important meeting for our client Aramark. Everyone in their corporate office was extremely impressed with the quality and design of the finished product. Congrats to the blue team for another successful project in the books.

To communicate their “farm fresh” approach Sony recently recycled cast-off advertising banners into a collection of jeans. Called the “Recycle Project Jeans,” the concept used ads which were displayed on the side of their building, in turn hanging and selling the upcycled product on that same wall.

Sony, recognizing that (much like wine or sushi) some things are just better at their point of origin, makes a point about locale with the project. Hanging the jeans on the building where the fabric originates emphasizes the repurposing concept, reinforcing the roots of the brand’s idea.

Each of the 120 handmade completely unique pairs sells directly from the wall. Passersby and potential customers peer at the jeans through supplied binoculars and once selected, someone rappels down the side of the building to remove the pair of colorful pants.

The project not only cleverly experiments with recycling, but all of the money from the sales supports World Heritage sites.

Personally, I prefer my pants on the ground rather than hanging from a building.
