Pants on a building – not on the ground.

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

To communicate their “farm fresh” approach Sony recently recycled cast-off advertising banners into a collection of jeans. Called the “Recycle Project Jeans,” the concept used ads which were displayed on the side of their building, in turn hanging and selling the upcycled product on that same wall.

Sony, recognizing that (much like wine or sushi) some things are just better at their point of origin, makes a point about locale with the project. Hanging the jeans on the building where the fabric originates emphasizes the repurposing concept, reinforcing the roots of the brand’s idea.

Each of the 120 handmade completely unique pairs sells directly from the wall. Passersby and potential customers peer at the jeans through supplied binoculars and once selected, someone rappels down the side of the building to remove the pair of colorful pants.

The project not only cleverly experiments with recycling, but all of the money from the sales supports World Heritage sites.

To see the spectacle in effect, check out their video .

Personally, I prefer my pants on the ground rather than hanging from a building.

Next time give bluemedia a call… we have some scrap banner material for use :-)

gametruck on ktla

Game Truck makes an appearance on KTLA Los Angeles News.

The GameTruck® was founded in 2006 by Scott Novis in Tempe, Arizona. It is the Original and World’s First Mobile Video Game Theater™. What started out as a fun birthday party experiment for family and friends quickly turned into a busy weekend business.  Over three years later The GameTruck® has expanded operations throughout Arizona as well as moving into its second year of franchising the GameTruck® business system.  To date the GameTruck® franchise organization has provided a number of franchise owners the opportunity to work towards the success we continue to experience here in the Valley.

The GameTruck® franchise organization is unique in this industry in that the Phoenix operation continues to serve as a means to validate and improve upon the existing business system while providing a platform to introduce new innovations in the industry we created.  In short we continue to work in the business we originally created, remaining laser focused on bringing people together to enjoy gaming in a multiplayer environment and to provide gamers with the best gaming experience available.  Moreover, each GameTruck® operation and their staff are committed to providing high quality entertainment at an affordable price.

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

Clean Mind, Clean Heart…….Clean Print Shop.

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Ever wondered why companies insist that their employees keep their workplaces clean? Not only is a dirty workplace a terrible place to work in, but it also lowers productivity and efficiency. Cleaning up after a day of work is just as important as what you do for a living.

A systematic and productive workplace is not a one-day-affair just because the boss or some prospective clients are around. Sustaining your cleaning tasks is important to improve productivity and increase employee satisfaction.

bluemedia strives to keep a clean workspace not only because it looks good, but because it is step one in ensuring that our clients projects get completed in a timely/accurate manner. Check out our print department, our print staff takes pride in their space and equipment. These folks say late and come in early to ensure everything is in order to start a print run. Organization and cleanliness are keys to a successful and productive company. Taking pride in yourself and your environment are a sure sign of a dedicated employee (and we happen to have a ton here at blue!).
