bluemedia™ on NASCAR Angels

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Check out the work we donated in this excerpt from NASCAR Angels. This episode featured Angels On Call, a charity organization who helps needy families with home renovation. While they were out renovating a home, unknown to them, we were wrapping their van. Andy Salcido and Will Mejia, our Design Director, ran point on this project and even get a little face time in the clip. Big shout-out to everyone involved and special thanks to NASCAR Angels for letting us get involved! Angels On Call loved their new wrap and it was a rewarding experience to be able to help them out.

Introducing . . . MEAN MUG!

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

meanmugblogphoto.jpg

Our newest addition to the bluemedia fleet - Mean Mug! This cart is soooooo handy. From setting up events or even hauling signs and banners to our vehicles. Mean Mug has many uses. You are probably asking Mean Mug . . . WTF? Everybody at bluemedia has some character and our vehicles are no exception. If you’ve seen our SWAT Truck wrapped with a flaming skull on it, then you’ll understand! A few weeks after Mean’s arrival we noticed how the front of the cart had the features of a face, mainly the eyes. From that point on, Brand Director - Chris Keal transformed the modern looking electric cart into a vehicle with a face. So I leave you with a quote from our veteran sales rep Andy Salcido “That is BAD ASS”

The Monsters of NASCAR

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Goodby Silverstien and Partners selected bluemedia to produce 24 NASCAR replica wraps to be used in the premier commercial announcing the change from the Nextel Cup to the Sprint Cup for the 2008-2009 NASCAR season. Heat and The Kingdom director Michael Mann got the nod to direct this one-of-a-kind spot.

In typical bluemedia fashion, the project had to be completed in 8 days. The blue crew hustled as usual to pull together the design and printing of over 1,000 graphic pieces to make these mean machines look exactly like their real world counterparts. Right down to the contingency decals and headlights, the bluemedia team worked with Michelle Mintz of GS&P to insure that each car was created to meet NASCAR and sponsor requirements.

As with every great action scene … there has to be a little metal carnage. We are proud to say that in this case … it was pretty amazing to watch our work get destroyed.

Here is the final one minute commercial

Congratulations to Goodby Silverstien, Mr. Mann and the entire creative and production staff, this is truly an exciting and theatrical commercial from start to finish.

Here are some behind the scenes photos of the vehicle graphic install and a great gallery of each stock car that was used in the commercial.

Bluemedia Invades Firebird

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Click image above for more photos.

It was the bluemedia Nationals featuring the NHRA on February 22nd at Firebird Raceway.  As fans entered, ready to fill the stands, they walked underneath the first bluemedia banner towering above them in the entrance way.  The fans roared as engines started and their eyes filled with the Nitrous in the air.

A second bluemedia sign lined up behind the starting line as our racecar, driven by Jim Head, was ready to tear up the track.  The bluemedia skull was in almost every ESPN shot, along with a few great clients like Budweiser and Speedco, a spot where people were getting a closeup of what bluemedia can do as they toured the trailer.

Everything was down to the wire, but we over at blue were able to put together a great weekend full of fans, speed, and good old fashioned racing!

Thanks to everyone who made the weekend rock!

Hear it. . .Smell it. . .and Feel it

The second stop on the NHRA Powerade Series 2008 schedule, is the 24th annual Checker Schuck’s Kragen NHRA Nationals at Firebird Int’l Raceway outside of Phoenix. It was a full weekend of beer drinking, picture taking and people watching. Witnessing these cars blast down the track at 320 plus miles per hours is one of the most unique experiences in all motorsports.

These photos are of the bluemedia sponsored Jim Head Toyota Funny Car. We designed, printed and Right On Custom installed the lighting bolt design at the track on Friday. Overall Jim ran a great weekend making all the way to the semi finals. Then Jack Beckman in/ the ValvolineMail Terminal Series Dodge ended the bid of Jim Head’s Toyota, which smoked the tires early. Beckman went on to beat Robert Hight in the AAA car in the finals to take home the money.

Here are some of our photos from the weekend

Here are the race results from the weekend

bluemedia Revs Its Engine to Sponsor Car at Tucson Raceway Park for 2008 Season

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

TEMPE, Ariz.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Industry-leading environmental and vehicle graphic company, bluemedia (www.bluemedia.com) today announced it will be an associate sponsor for a car during the upcoming 2008 Tucson Raceway Park (TRP) season. bluemedias No. 44 car, driven by Rick Butler, is a 2008 bodied Toyota Camry NASCAR late model. The wrapped vehicle is in bluemedia MotorSports graphics for 24 races throughout the season.

We are looking forward to sponsoring Rick Butlers car. Through the past few years, we have learned a great deal about sponsoring racing at this level, and we will continue to build upon that knowledge, said President, Jared Smith, bluemedia. Our sports marketing initiatives have proven to be very effective in building our brand awareness and supporting the community.

The sponsorship deal makes bluemedia MotorSports the associate sponsor for the No. 44 car for 24 events in 2008 featuring Rick Butler at TRP. The sponsored car is part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with thousands of cars being represented nationally. The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series is NASCAR’s national championship program for short-track racing.

We are delighted to have bluemedia as a partner for this season, said Rick Butler, Whelen All-American driver. And we are looking forward to working with them in the future as the season unfolds.

Rick Butler has been racing for more than 20 years, taking home 2 first place finishes in the 2007 season at Tucson Raceway Park and is ranked 5th in Arizona overall for NASCARs Wheelan All-American Series. In addition to driving, Rick Butler serves as CEO of Rick Butler Motorsports.

bluemedia has sponsored many other racing cars in the past, most recently 2005-2007, bluemedia worked with Frank Pedregon Racing and sponsored a funny car.

Vehicle wraps are printed onto an adhesive backed vinyl using large format digital ink jet printers. The graphics produced range from solid colors to photographic type of images. The vinyl is then “wrapped” onto the body. This technology is widely used in the commercial sector and would include public transit buses, widely seen on the streets, to the small and large business owners. Many companies have seen the value of this new form on non-traditional advertising.

sema 2007

click on photo for 250 pictures from SEMA.

The 2007 SEMA Show featurde more than 2,000 automotive specialty-equipment manufacturers. “Never before have so many companies come to us so early in the year and committed to participating in the SEMA Show,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of communications and events.

A major benefit to having so many exhibitors take part in the Show, MacGillivray explained, is that attendees can meet and talk with key players from the exhibiting companies—all within one week. “This is the single best place to talk directly to the source,” MacGillivray said. “Many exhibitors even conduct product demonstrations and technical seminars to give attendees greater product knowledge. These activities are free to attendees, but the takeaway is priceless.”

USA kicks the worlds ass

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

So, on the the weekend of September 21-23 the Motocross of Nations was held at Budds Creek Motocross park.  The event known as the  Olympics of motocross has not been held in the United States in twenty years.   The reason, well . . . the rest of the world doesn’t stand much of a shot at beating the US on there tracks much less on ours.  That trend continued, each country sends three of there best riders and there were 30 country’s represented. Ryan Villopoto Killed it, Dude I’m talking he smoked the worlds best riders on a smaller cc bike,  the Greatest motocross racer of all time Ricky Carmichael came from last to third in the first moto and Won the third moto.  Timmy Ferry the third rider for the US team rode strong coming from last in the second moto to finish fourth and second to Carmichael in the third moto.   Why does this matter to Bluemedia you ask, let me tell you.  Firstly Blue is always down with the USA, sending containers of items to the troops(I know that they got all my Maxim’s).  Secondly, Dude this is my post and that’s where I was PUNK.  If you want to check out the highlights  www.motocross.com
So, back to business.  I-15 southbound, there is a Smith optics sticker on the sign Vegas 14 miles.  Not a good placement but it sends a message, you cant miss it.  The person who stuck it was in a hurry no doubt, so I’ll cut them some slack.  Remember not to be in such a rush “If your doing it right, your not doing anything wrong”.
