The fourth stop on the Arena Pro Swim Series, part of the USA Swimming Tour, took place in Mesa, AZ at the Skyline Aquatic Center. USA Swimming is a 400,000-member service organization that is responsible for selecting and training teams for international competition, including the Olympic Games, and for creating opportunities for swimmers and coaches of all backgrounds to participate and advance in the sport through clubs, events and education.
bluemedia was challenged with using a variety of sports events signage, such as fence mesh, banners and more to turn Skyline Aquatic Center, a public facility that is part of the City of Mesa aquatic centers located on the grounds of a high school, into a world-class competition venue for elite, Olympic swimmers, including Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time.
This is the third year Skyline Aquatic Center has hosted this event, and both Arena Pro and USA Swimming have begun calling it ‘one of the best stops on the tour’. Up until now, they’ve used another facility as a baseline for what a ‘model event’ should look and feel like, however, going forward, Skyline has become the new ideal and de facto model in which all future events will be based.
It was really amazing how much the question mark backpacks helped individuals identify who they could go to for questions. I was just carrying one of them (not wearing) through the convention center and was stopped so many times by fans with questions.
