bluemedia helped the city of Phoenix and the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee countdown to Super Bowl XLIX kick-off on February 1st, 2015 with the unveiling of the Super Bowl XLIX custom fabrication Countdown Clock at the corner of Jefferson and 1st Street in downtown Phoenix!
At 13′ high, with a 6′ wide hexagon base comprised of inch-thick steel, the official Super Bowl Countdown Clock made for an imposing presence before it was unveiled this morning in front of news cameras, the public, and city officials. Composed of a steel/aluminum construction, and fitted with three ultra-bright 55″ screens, the advanced technology that goes into this time-keeping structure is impressive, and more than a little sophisticated.The tech includes more than 200 feet of custom DMX controlled LED illumination, nine 1,000 watt solar panels provided by sponsor First Solar, and a video-synced sound system with high-end subwoofer — so when you’re standing next to it, you can not only hear but feel otherworldly sounds and out-of-this-world bass projecting from the piece. The custom fabrication clock will stood as a countdown — to the minute — until the big game’s kick-off. The piece also helped keep fans updated about exciting events and activities that took place at and around the free, 12-city block fan campus known as ‘Super Bowl Central’.
