In the NFL, it’s all about how you play, not how you look. But when it comes to your football stadium signage, looks do matter! Teams want to create an impressive environment for players and fans alike. With the Detroit Lions in the process of a multi-million dollar stadium renovation, their first in fifteen years, to keep pace with other new facilities and improvements happening around downtown Detroit, they reached out to bluemedia to help them create an exciting atmosphere and hype the changes during the renovation for prospective suite clients, local businesses and fans. To further wow guests and give them a sense of what the space looked like prior to the re-build, bluemedia also setup a 26’ immersive projection dome in the stadium.
The bluemedia team installed banners, graphics and more along the path prospective suite clients and fans will take while touring the stadium. The branded blue and white Detroit Lions graphics start in the parking garage and continue on throughout the waiting area, new suite construction zones and sales meeting rooms. The Lions logo is featured prominently around the walking path, and a larger-than-life display case with a team uniform is also highlighted along the way for clients and fans to admire up close.
For the dome, the NFL provided bluemedia with 360° immersive content that showcased Ford Field during the 2016 season. Highlights included a wealth of 360° degree views of field action during game play, main concourse areas, suites and exterior stadium shots, as well as fan and team member images.
Overlooking the football field, bluemedia installed a large banner wall illustrating the many the improvements set to occur around the stadium. Titled “The New Ford Field,” the banner wall includes photos of future renovations, video and audio changes, and stadium Wi-Fi information as well. At the end of the stadium tour, the bluemedia team created Lions-branded meeting rooms for closing suite sales with prospective clients.
The Detroit Lions football stadium signage took three days total to complete. Broken into two phases due to artwork and construction coordination, four installers were present in the first phase and two finished everything up during the second. The reactions of the people around the stadium while the bluemedia team was installing everything solidified the “wow” factor and increased excitement for the future of the Lions home.
Now that bluemedia is the preferred signage partner of the Detroit Lions, this is just the first touchdown pass of many when it comes to project collaboration!
Thank you for the great work on both buildings. You were a pleasure to work with and were exactly right on how to create the wrap. Glad I trusted you.
