Spanning 1956 to 2016, the Northern Arizona University Hall of Fame has certainly stood the test of time. As proud as NAU is of their Hall of Fame honorees, they’d like the celebrated individuals to be proud of their NAU display as well. That’s why they enlisted bluemedia to update the Hall of Fame display in the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome.
This 272,000 square-foot building includes facilities for football, basketball, indoor track and field, soccer and more. Plus, NAU often uses the Skydome for concerts, commencements and other recreational activities. Overall, there is a high-volume of consistent traffic throughout the facility, and many visitors stop to admire the Hall of Fame decor on the main concourse floor.
Before beginning, the bluemedia team came up with an installation strategy that would ensure easy updates in the future. New Hall of Fame plaques are ready to go to keep the display current and impressive – and we designed enough room for at least the next 25 years of additional honorees.
The main display is acrylic in NAU branded colors, mounted on the cinder block wall with printed acrylic and images. Each plaque features the name or team honored, the sport, the date of induction and a paragraph description. Around the corner from the Hall of Fame wall is another extension, featuring an updated, more modern trophy display case. It took six installers a full two days to get everything up.
Right around the same time this installation was going on, the bluemedia team also tackled the NAU athletic administrative offices above the Hall of Fame decor. We transformed their plain, boring walls with wrapped edge prints, window murals, acrylic plaques and logo cutouts. School branding and colors are consistent throughout the offices, along with different sports images to represent many of the athletic programs.
Whether fans are looking down at the 50-yard line in the stadium or at the NAU Hall of Fame display on their right, bluemedia has ensured that they’ll be equally impressed!
You and your team were awesome partners for the Championship Campus and CFP related events, and I wanted to thank you and let you know I really appreciated all you did.
