What speed limit? Northern Arizona University’s track and field team continues to surpass expectations and break records. These accomplishments are illustrated on the track and field record board that’s displayed by their athletic offices in the NAU Health and Learning Center building.
NAU reached out to bluemedia for help updating the records display in order to better preserve them and celebrate their track and field athletes. Before beginning the project, the bluemedia team worked to identify the best way to install a sharp, modern display that could be easily updated. Our goal was to make sure that anything that may be changed or added will be simple and cost effective in the future.
To accomplish this, the bluemedia installers used acrylic printed onto panels that can be switched out as needed. The four sets of records – men’s, women’s, indoor, and outdoor – are broken down further in the display by category. This includes everything from the 100-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles, to the long jump and pole vault. Each acrylic panel features the name of the athlete as well as the time and date of the new record.
The silver on top of the board, which introduces viewers to the display, is brushed aluminum KomAlu® panels with cut vinyl behind it. Our team stuck with NAU school colors and fonts to keep it consistent with the rest of the athletic department branding.
Although this installation only took two installers less than a day to finish, there were multiple aspects of preparation and a lot of depth and dimension to the new track and field record board. The bluemedia team was proud to present NAU with a long-lasting display to commemorate their impressive track and field athletes!
I know this time of year is always crazy and we can make it extremely difficult on you guys, but you always seem to go above and beyond with your communication, work ethic and service.
