The ASICS World Series of Beach Volleyball took place in Long Beach, CA the week of August 18th, and brought together more than 120 of the world’s greatest beach volleyball players in a nationally televised premier event on NBC Sports. Now in its third year, this year’s matches also doubled as the final Olympic qualifier in the United States for the 2016 Rio Olympic games.
bluemedia designed, produced and installed the majority of the interior/exterior branded and sponsor signage for the event, including the bleachers, pressboxes, sidelines and more. With 10K sq ft of mesh graphics, some requiring lifts to install due to their massive size, our experienced project managers, production team and certified installers turned the job around from start to finish in less than five days.
Because there is no permanent structure allowed on the beach, we weren’t able to properly survey the area beforehand, instead having to rely on renderings of ‘possible’ bleacher builds. Our expert team also had to determine where breaks in the structure would be set so sponsor/artwork elements could be properly spaced throughout the event location. Ultimately, the client was ecstatic about the artwork, and the nationally televised event went off without a hitch. Check out a highlights reel from the last day below!
All I’m hearing are amazing things about the field signage! You guys have been so great and I'm even more excited to see what we can come up with for next year!!
