bluemedia Knocks the Pins Off Tavern+Bowl Customers With Visual Experience

As the first of its kind in Glendale, Arizona, Tavern+Bowl needed wall graphics and restaurant signage as unique as their upscale microbrewery and bowling alley concept.

The company turned to bluemedia to help them install a range of signs, graphics, panels and more at their new Westgate Entertainment District location. The 18,243 square-foot space features twelve bowling lanes, billiards tables, shuffleboard, a bar, patio and a full-service restaurant.

Before beginning any projects or installation, the bluemedia team surveyed the site and went over strategy with the design agency, owner and a general contractor. Then, bluemedia worked in tandem with the construction crew for about four months to ensure their tight deadlines were met. Anywhere from two to six bluemedia team members were on site for several days at a time to install the various graphics and restaurant signage for Tavern+Bowl during that period.

The exterior marquee signs that were put up above the entrance read: “Tavern+Bowl” with “Choice Brewing, Premier Lanes” next to their company logo. These are comprised of a super structure frame with open-faced pan channel letters and exposed neon. A large beer bottle cabinet sign – about 6 ft. wide and 16 ft. tall – was installed outside and completed with a faux distressed wood finish and hand-painted graphics.

Printed vinyl window graphics, acrylic signs and custom wall paper were installed inside the space, along with translucent graphic panels with LED lighting in various places, such as above the bowling lanes. Bold bowling lane identifier signs – like “Crazy 8” and “Kingpin 4” – were also put up by bluemedia. Custom, vintage-themed wall graphics were installed on bar cabinets – about 2.5 ft. tall and more than 12 ft. wide – with the playful phrasing: “Take one down / Pass it around / 99 bottles of beer.”

The bluemedia team overcame several building and construction delays and challenges to make the new Tavern+Bowl location look its best. We have no doubt that the amazing visual experience crafted by Tavern+Bowl, their design firm and bluemedia will “bowl” customers over!
